Korean War vets contribute to Delaware Veterans Trust Fund

December 17, 2017

Edward J. Johnson, left, a member of the Delaware Commission of Veterans Affairs, presents a $5,000 check from the Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 1 Wounded Warrior Fund to Dave Skocik, president of the Friends of Delaware Veterans Inc., for the Delaware Veterans Trust Fund.

Signed into law in 2013, the trust fund assists Delaware's veterans in verified financial emergency with a one-time, hand-up grant. It has prevented cutoff of utilities, repossessions of property and evictions, and sometimes put food on the table. Contributions are tax deductible.

The Friends is a volunteer group of veteran leaders from across the state who operate under the auspices of the commission and uses their facilities to meet and for administrative help. Via this partnership, no expenses or administrative fees are deducted. For more information or to contribute, go to www.DelawareVeteransTrustFund.com.
