Angola standoff ends

Jason Arnold, an armed suspect on the loose, was found dead inside a home on Blackwood Drive near Angola/Long Neck. 

There had been a large police presence in the area since the early morning hours as troopers searched for Arnold, who is a suspect in an officer-involved shooting.

At 11:30 a.m., Delaware State Police announced Arnold was found inside the residence. Police initially did not specify whether Arnold was alive or injured, but later revealed he had taken his own life. The scene is secure, and there is no threat to the public, police said.

During the incident, state police learned a 69-year-old woman in a neighboring home was injured. It is unclear whether her injury was directly related to the exchange of gunfire. She was treated at a local hospital and released.

This remains an active investigation. A news release will be issued once additional information is available.
