Larry Wilson Bledsoe, government retiree
Larry Wilson Bledsoe, of Millsboro, passed away Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, at the age of 78. He is survived by his beloved wife, Francine Bledsoe (nee Swetsky); daughter, Jennifer Lynn Bledsoe; granddaughter, Magan Alyse Kopp; sister-in-law, Elaine (Mort) Golden; nieces, Randi (Adam) Carrick and Susan (Dominic) Comi; and nephews, Matthew Golden and Barry (Jennifer) Shapiro. He was predeceased by his cherished parents, Thelma and Hoyt Bledsoe; and sister-in-law, Barbara (Harvey) Shapiro.
Larry had 37 years with the federal government in human resources/personnel, including the U.S. Customs Service and various other Treasury agencies, as well as the Department of Agriculture, Agency for International Development, and many others. Larry held many high-level positions, receiving many awards for recognized work in many first starts in the federal government. He was a trailblazer in high project areas.
Larry loved his family and enjoyed traveling with them. He loved working with genealogy and spent many hours researching family roots, even traveling to many states to search out all information. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, swimming, and the beautiful beach views, including the scenery and nature of the area where he resided.
Larry was soft-spoken, humble, and a true gentleman. All who knew him loved him. He will be greatly missed.
Services at Sol Levinson's Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, Md., Wednesday, Feb. 2, at 12:30 pm. Service video is available on Levinson's website. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Annapolis.
