Beacon Middle School field hockey lost a 1-0 game to visiting Chipman Oct. 28, with the winning goal coming in the final two minutes off the stick of Lacey Hutson.
The game was back and forth with each team having multiple opportunities in the second half.
Beacon drops to 7-2 on the season. All seven wins have come by shutout.
Chipman remains undefeated at 7-0-1, having tied Sussex Academy 0-0. The Seahawks boast an 8-0-1 record.
Cape will play sister school Mariner at 6 p.m., Monday, Nov. 4, at Cape’s Champions Stadium.
