December 7, 2023

Legacy Academy, the first classical Christian school in Sussex County, invites families to an open house for the 2024-25 school year at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 13, at its campus in Harbeson.

Families considering enrollment in grades K-8 next year are welcome to join school faculty and students for an information session, school tour, class immersion, luncheon, and a time for questions and answers with staff and current families. The open house is an opportunity for the whole family to discover the classical difference at Legacy Academy. Advance registration is required and available at legacyacademyde.org/calendar. Future 2024 open house dates are also available on the school website.

Legacy Head of School Karen Barbrow said, “Legacy Academy’s open houses allow prospective parents and students to see what makes Legacy’s Christ-centered classical education unique. Legacy desires to partner with families and local churches to shape its students’ hearts and minds, enrich them with the heritage of the past, and endow them for their future calling to the glory of God. This school is grounded and growing, and we welcome others to join us.”

Founded in 2022, Legacy Academy is the only school of its kind in Southern Delaware. Rooted in the classical tradition of education, Legacy teaches that all knowledge is interrelated and can instruct about God himself. Legacy’s gifted teachers provide a carefully planned, academically challenging and integrated curriculum that prepares its students to become life learners. Classical Christian education cultivates character and provides a solid foundation in understanding scripture, seeking truth and building proficiency in the tools of learning.
