Leisure Point Resort celebrates 40 years of camping with ribbon cutting

August 1, 2015

The Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce celebrated over 40 years and four generations of family involvement at Leisure Point Resort with a ribbon cutting ceremony held July 15.

For over 40 years, Leisure Point Resort has been a  fisherman's dream and a camper's delight. Located in the Long Neck area on Guinea Creek, Leisure Point offers year-round manufactured housing, seasonal RV sites, membership camping and RV park models for rent. Over 300 boat slips are available for rent by the day or by the season so visitors can enjoy exploring the Inland Bays and access the ocean.

If just relaxing in the resort is a passion, there are well-shaded lots to read that book, or one can enjoy the sun and swimming at the resort pool. Once school is out, planned activities are weekly happenings.

Leisure Point Resort was founded in 1967 by George and Thelma Harrison; it has been owned and operated by their son Dick Harrison since 1973. The resort is on its fourth working family generation. Dick Harrison's son, Chris Harrison, is vice president and is relieving his father of some of the day-to-day operations, while grandsons Christopher Jr. and Zackary help out during the summer.

Leisure Point Resort is ranked in the top 2 percent of campground resorts nationwide, and the Harrison family invites visitors to enjoy it for many years to come. For reservations or more information call 302-945-2000 or go to www.leisurepoint.com.
