St. Andrew's Orthodox Church sets Friday Lenten services
Due to a difference in calendars, the Orthodox Lent began Feb. 23 this year. As part of the 40 days of preparation for Pascha (Easter), the Eastern Orthodox community of Saint Andrew will celebrate the Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts at 6 p.m. each Friday. At 6 p.m. on the fifth Friday, March 27, the church will celebrate the Akathist to the Mother of God.
The Divine Liturgy is celebrated each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at 33384 MacKenzie Way, Lewes. Visitors are always welcome. All services are in English. For more information call 302-645-5791 or go to www.orthodoxdelmar.org.
Bethel United Methodist Church announces Holy Week services
Bethel UMC's Chancel Choir will present the cantata, “Who Is This King” at 7 p.m., Good Friday, April 3, in the sanctuary. The Bethel choir will be accompanied by narrators, instruments, drums and Joyce Mentzer on the organ. All are invited to hear the story of Jesus’ final days of ministry dramatically retold in song. April 5, Easter Sunday services will be at 8, 9:15 and 11 a.m. at Bethel. The community is invited to worship at Bethel for this most joyous day as the resurrection of Jesus and his victory over death are celebrated. Trumpets will be played and spring flowers will be on view Easter morning. Bethel is on the corner of Fourth and Market streets in historic Lewes. Good Friday Lewes Community Cross Walk
All are welcome to the Lewes Community Cross Walk which begins at 10 a.m., Friday, April 3, at Bethel UMC on the corner of Fourth and Market streets. The Cross Walk is a mile and a half walk through the historic district with walkers sharing in the carrying of a large cross. Along the way there are 14 stops, where a portion of the biblical account of Jesus’ final day is read, and a verse of a familiar hymn is sung.
The Lewes Community Sunrise Service Easter Sunday
The Lewes Community Sunrise Service will gather at 6 a.m. at Lewes Beach Sunday, April 5, with worshippers from the Lewes community to greet the dawn with joyous alleluias. Worship will be led by pastors of churches from the Lewes community. All are welcome.
Groome United Methodist Church sets Holy Week services and events
Groome United Methodist Church will join other Lewes churches in a Cross Walk through Lewes beginning at 10 a.m. Good Friday, April 3, at Bethel United Methodist Church on Fourth Street. Youth will take turns carrying a wooden cross as participants read scripture and pray at various historic locations throughout Lewes. Groome Church will have a noon, Good Friday service following the Cross Walk.
At 6 a.m., Easter Sunday, April 5, the churches of Lewes will conduct a Sunrise Service at Lewes Beach.
Groome’s Easter worship services will be at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Groome invites the public to all services and events. Groome United Methodist Church is at the corner of Savannah Road and Dewey Avenue in Lewes.
Conley’s UMC sets Easter season services and events
Conley's United Methodist Church will host African Children’s Choir in concert at 7 p.m., Satuday, March 28.
Good Friday services with prayer time will be from noon to 3 p.m., Friday, April 3, at Conley's Chapel, 22150 Robinsonville Road.
Contemporary Easter service will be at 6:30 p.m., Saturday April 4.
Easter Sunday Sunrise service will take place at the empty tomb at 6:30 a.m., Sunday April 5, and traditional Easter services are set for 8:45 and 10:30 a.m.

Coolspring Presbyterian Church sets Holy Week and Easter services
Coolspring Presbyterian Church will hold a Walking Service of Light from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Saturday, April 4, at the historic churchyard. In case of inclement weather, the service will be moved to the church.

St. Jude the Apostle to host Good Friday Life Chain April 3
St. Jude the Apostle's Pro-Life Vigil for Life provides a special time to pray for the end of abortion. Participants may join the Life Chain from 10 a.m. to noon, Good Friday, April 3, in front of St. Jude the Apostle Church along Route 1 just north of Five Points near Lewes. Signs will be provided. All are invited to join and witness for life.

St. Jude the Apostle announces special services for the Easter season. Good Friday, April 3, morning prayer will be at 7:30 a.m. There will be no 7:30 a.m. Mass. The service of the Lord’s Passion will be at 3 p.m. in the church.
Holy Saturday, April 4, morning prayer will be at 7:30 a.m. There will be no 7:30 a.m. Mass. Also, there will be no 4:30 p.m. Mass or Sacrament of Reconciliation available Saturday, March 30.
The Easter Vigil Mass will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4. Easter Sunday Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord will be at 7, 8:30, 10 and 11:30 a.m., Sunday, April 5.

Catholic churches in Georgetown and Millsboro have announced their schedules of services for the upcoming Easter season.
Mary Mother of Peace will have a 9 a.m. prayer service Good Friday, April 3, followed by a re-enactment at noon and a 3 p.m. Veneration of the Cross April 3.
St. Michael the Archangel will have a 2 p.m. Stations of the Cross service in Spanish Friday, April 3, followed by a 3 p.m. Veneration of the Cross service in English and a 7:30 p.m. Veneration of the Cross service in Spanish.
Mary Mother of Peace will have a 7:30 p.m. Easter Vigil Mass and no 4 p.m. Mass Saturday, April 4.
St. Michael the Archangel will have no English Vigil Mass, no 5 p.m. Spanish Mass and no 7 p.m. English Mass Saturday, April 4. St. Michael the Archangel will have a 10 p.m. Mass in Spanish Saturday, April 4.

Unity to discuss metaphysics of Easter April 5
Unity of Rehoboth Beach will look at the metaphysics of the Easter season at 10 a.m., Sunday, April 5. All are aware of the traditional Easter story, but what does it mean from a metaphysical point of view? How can the over 2,000-year-old story be pertinent in today's world? All are welcome for an interesting discussion of Easter with fellowship following. Unity also has classes meeting at 1:30, Tuesdays and at 6 p.m., Thursdays starting April 9 at the Long Neck CHEER Center. Unity meets at 10 a.m., Sundays at the Olive Branch Building, 14904 Costal Highway, Milton.
Grace of God Lutheran Church sets Holy Week services
Grace of God Lutheran Church, worshiping at the Long Neck CHEER center behind Grotto Pizza, will hold Holy Week Services as follows: Good Friday Service, 7 p.m.; Easter Morning Service, 10 a.m. All are welcome.
There will also be a Blessing of the Animals at American Legion Post 28 at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 4. All animal friends are welcome.
