The Lower Eastern Shore Heritage Area Council will host its Annual Meeting and Heritage Awards on Wednesday, May 4, from 10:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m. at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center. The keynote speaker will be Daniel Carroll Toomey, whose topic will be "The Eastern Shore During the Civil War."
Toomey, the guest curator at the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum for its five year project "The War Came by Train," has won numerous awards and is also an author.
The public is invited to attend the meeting. Tickets are $30 for general admission, and tickets must be purchased in advance by April 26. The meeting includes lunch, the Heritage Awards, a silent auction fundraiser and an exhibit of the current Mini Grant projects.
