Lewes Artists Studio Tour invites visitors Sept. 15

September 12, 2018

The Lewes Artists Studio Tour will be celebrating its 20th year  from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 15. A group of 21 regionally known artists and artisans will be displaying their works at 15 different locations. There is no admission charge, and there will be a free raffle at each location. The home-based studios are all located within a two-mile radius of downtown Lewes.

Returning this year are Connie Ballato, Susan Bartley, Kathy Buschi, Jean Doran, David Scott Ennis, Peter Feeney, Roy Fitzgerald, Kevin Fleming, Bev Harrington, Dean Hoover, Lorelei Meanor, Becki Mott-Lynn, Nina Mickelsen, Aina Nergaard-Nammack, Marilyn Nugent, Steve Rogers and Wes Stack. New to the tour are Joan Fabbri, Ruth Ann Kaufman, Mary Louise Lauffer and Sarah Pavlik.

These artists and artisans represent a significant portion of the Lewes art community. Their works reflect the range of creativity and expression that contributes to Lewes’ unique character. Visiting with artists in their studios provides a behind-the-scenes look into where the works are created and how the artists go about their work. The works include paintings, stained glass, fibers, textiles, mixed media, jewelry, woodwork, photography, art quilts, mosaics and ceramics.

The tour is a popular Lewes attraction each year. It affords returning visitors a rare opportunity to see how each of the artists has evolved, and what new and different things they are experimenting with. People enjoy the uniquely personal experience of talking with the artists and artisans, and connecting to their works.

Brochures with artist locator maps are available at many locations, including local retail shops, galleries, the Lewes Public Library and Lewes Chamber of Commerce. For more information or to download a brochure, go to www.LewesArtistsStudioTour.com.
