Lewes in Bloom awards Beauty Spot to Chris King

August 18, 2020

The August 2020 Lewes in Bloom Beauty Spot Award winner is Chris King of Lewes.

Two years ago, she renovated and moved into her beautiful 1935 Craftsman home.

Although gardeners were in her family, King did not consider herself one until recently. Crape myrtles were used to create division and privacy along with a mural-painted fence and trellises covered with climbing plants. Hydrangeas, Dover roses, boxwoods, a weeping cherry and switch grasses are planted around the house, along with numerous perennials and annuals.

The property is small but very charming and private, with room-like areas to sit and enjoy. Pictured with Chris receiving her gift card donated by Wharton’s Garden Center are Lewes in Bloom members Betsy Hansot, Ann-Marie Rooney, Linda McDonald and Dianne Stevens.
