Lewes in Bloom to sell plants and merchandise May 1

Lewes in Bloom will hold its annual plant sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 1, at its warehouse on Schley Avenue in Lewes. Members will be selling potted plants straight from their gardens as well as plants grown by Cape Henlopen High School’s plant science division. Available Lewes in Bloom merchandise will include hats, T-shirts, sweatshirts, cookbooks and more. For a special feature this year, Lewes in Bloom will be selling some nearly new and gently used gardening accessories, such as metal basketry and coco liners. Early shoppers will be able to choose from the best selection. Convenient street parking is available. Attendees are asked to wear masks and practice safe distancing.

Lewes in Bloom is a volunteer organization of more than 250 members. Each year, its members volunteer hundreds of hours planting thousands of bulbs and plants throughout the city. It promotes the beautification and maintenance of historic Lewes and the community at large. It is dedicated to helping Lewes boost its attractiveness through a variety of efforts including historical preservation, environmental awareness, a children’s garden, floral displays and more.
