The Annual Installation of the Lewes Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors took place Sept. 11 at the Lewes Yacht Club. The featured speaker was Sam Calagione, Dogfish Head Brewery founder and president. Board officers and directors gathered before the dinner for a group photograph with the Delaware Bay as a backdrop.

Lewes Chamber Executive Director Betsy Reamer thanks Cape Gazette Publisher Dennis Forney for the paper’s recent donation of full-page ads promoting downtown Lewes businesses during a city utility construction project. Reamer is presenting a framed copy of an ad from a 2006 chamber campaign promoting Presidents Day Weekend in Lewes. In the ad, Forney is dressed as Abe Lincoln and current Lewes Mayor Ted Becker portrays George Washington. Kevin Fleming photographed and designed the ad. Fleming also photographed and designed the framed 2006 ad being presented by Becker, in which Fleming dressed as Austin Powers and Lewes Chamber Executive Director Betsy Reamer portrayed Catwoman to promote the annual British Motorcar Show.
