Lewes Chamber Players and guest vocalist to perform Nov. 11

November 9, 2018

Guest vocalist Dr. James Wilson will join the Lewes Chamber Players at  2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lewes.

The wide-ranging musical program will include Bach arias and selections from Jean-Philippe Rameau’s opera “Aquilon et Orithie,” as well as art songs by Schubert, Debussy and Copland. The strings will perform traditional Scottish music and Romanian music for violin and cello.

Wilson is associate professor of music at Wesley College in Dover. He currently directs the Wesley College Choir, the Kent Chamber Choir and the Delaware Choral Society.

The Lewes Chamber Players consist of violinist Sylvia Ahramjian, cellist Ovidiu Marinescu and organist and harpsichordist T.J. Thomas, director of music at St. Peter’s.

The concert is one of a series sponsored by the St. Cecilia Guild, an outreach ministry of the music program at St. Peter’s, whose mission is to present high-quality music not heard elsewhere in eastern Sussex County.

All programs are offered free of charge. St. Peter’s is at Second and Market streets in downtown Lewes.
