July 10, 2018

Foot Light Productions will perform its next murder mystery show, “Gone with the Gin,” Saturday, July 28, at the Lewes Diner, 1201 Savannah Road, Lewes. Cocktails begin at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m.

The Roaring ‘20s murder mystery takes place in 1928, and the sale of alcohol is illegal per the 18th Amendment. Alcohol is known as hooch, sauce or booze, and the mobs are at war with each other over which gang will be the main supplier. Momma Morgan, who owns the best bar in Sussex County, must select the correct provider, or it could mean curtains for her.

The Lewes Diner will prepare a buffet dinner of soup or salad, rolls, tenderloin beef tips over rice, fried flounder, chicken scampi with broccoli, assortment of hot vegetables, variety of desserts and nonalcoholic beverages. Tickets are $39 per person, and gratuity and alcoholic beverages are not included. A full cash bar is available.

Audience members eat dinner and then watch the comedic drama unfold until they witness a murder. It is up to them to question the suspects and discover motive, means and opportunity. Prizes awarded for the correct solution. It is fun, family-friendly and unique. The show features local entertainers Mary Anne Stein, Tom Sweeny and Ches Warrener of Lewes, and Maria Bagley of Barclay, Md. Free parking is available in the front lot of the restaurant.

Reservations are required. For more information or to reserve seats, call 302-200-9191.
