Officers welcomed with coffee, pastries
September 23, 2025

Lewes Elementary third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students welcomed a group of Lewes and Delaware State Police officers into their classroom Sept. 19 for Thank a Police Officer Day.

The kids prepared coffee and pastries for the officers, and had the chance to ask them a variety of hard-hitting questions about the most challenging parts of their job, who they consider to be their heroes, and, of course, their favorite ice cream flavors and toppings.

Superintendent Jenny Nauman and Assistant Superintendent LouAnn Hudson also joined.
