Lewes Lions perform vision screening at Cape senior center

April 16, 2019

The Lewes Lons Club performed vision screenings at the Cape Henlopen Senior Center March 27.

Eighty percent of all visual impairment can be prevented or cured. The first step to prevention is awareness. The second is early detection through vision screening.

The Lewes Lions partner with medical professionals and community leaders to screen adults to identify those at risk for vision loss. If a problem exists, the individual will be referred to an ophthalmologist. The Lions Clubs’ world aim is to raise awareness of visual impairment and diabetes, which may cause blindness.
