Lewes summer concerts to start June 23 in Stango Park

June 10, 2020

The City of Lewes recently announced the lineup for the Lewes Summer Concert Series at 7 p.m., Tuesdays, in Stango Park on Kings Highway, with some modifications for social distancing.

The Delaware 287th Army Band will perform the first concert June 23.

There is no indoor rain location at this time due to COVID-19 restrictions and limitations. If inclement weather is in the forecast, the concert will be canceled, and notifications will be sent out by email blast and posted on Facebook.

The 2020 lineup includes more favorites along with new bands that cover a range of musical styles and genres, including June 30: Christopher Dean Band; July 7: Milford Community Band; July 14: Cocktails at 3; July 21: Reel Ting: July 28: the Funsters; Aug. 4: British Invasion Experience; Aug. 11: Brothers Stonesifer; Aug. 18: Vinyl Shockley; and Aug. 25: U.S. Navy Band Cruisers.

Other modifications for the concert series include the governor’s Phase 1 plans for outdoor gatherings, which include limiting attendance to 250 people, practicing six feet of separation between family groups, and wearing face coverings/masks. The city will have two portable toilets at the concert venue for concert patrons only, and hand sanitizer will be provided.

Concerts are free and provide a family-friendly event with diverse music options. All are welcome to bring chairs, blankets, snacks and their dancing shoes.

The 2020 summer concert series lineup is sponsored by the City of Lewes and WSFS Bank, and by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
