Linda Shirley Steer, proud housewife

March 26, 2024

Linda Shirley Steer (Bonser), 78, of Millsboro, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024, surrounded by her family.

She was born in New Jersey Oct. 2, 1945, daughter of the late Dorothy (Soltner) and George Bonser, and sister to Dorothy Thompson (Bonser) and George Bonser. She completed high school in New Jersey and soon after graduating met the love of her life, the late Daniel (Dan) Steer; they were married June 11, 1966. They would eventually start their own family, welcoming a son and daughter, and relocated from New Jersey to Delaware.

Linda was your typical housewife, and she was proud of it. There was nothing else she would rather do than spend time taking care of her house and her family. Outside of taking care of the house, she thoroughly enjoyed cooking, doing crafts, reading, snacking, watching TV, and last but certainly not least, shopping! Some of her favorite places to shop included Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and Dollar Tree. When it came to food, she thoroughly enjoyed lobster, crabs, and steak.

Linda was known as the “sweet little grandmother,” at only 4-foot-11, who never failed to give you whatever random mints she had left over in her purse. She is survived by her family whom she loved greatly, and who loved her just the same; including her daughter, Kimberly Steer; son, Jeffrey Steer; granddaughters, Cheyenne Dally and Rylee Hart; and the light of her life in the last few months, great-grandson, Jace Daniel Smith.

Services are to be determined, but will be held privately by invitation only.
