Little Vikings students explore Kwanzaa through hands-on learning

Little Vikings Preschool students recently participated in an engaging, hands-on learning experience centered on Kwanzaa, gaining a deeper understanding of the holiday’s cultural significance, traditions and values.

Pre-K students created their own drum designs, fashioned mkeka mats, and crafted bracelets using the traditional red, black and green colors of Kwanzaa. Each activity was thoughtfully connected to the principles of the holiday, helping students better understand its symbols and significance.

Through discussion and hands-on projects, students were able to make meaningful connections between the activities and the values of unity, creativity and collective responsibility that Kwanzaa represents. The interactive lesson encouraged creativity while reinforcing respect for cultural diversity.
