Live Christmas music at The Pines continues Dec. 15
True Blue Jazz has partnered with The Pines Restaurant in downtown Rehoboth to offer Christmas shows that also support a great cause.
The idea was conceived by Dave Gonce, co-owner of The Pines, to provide folks with nights of live Christmas music while supporting a charitable organization to benefit Cape Region children at the same time.
The Pines is a premier sponsor for True Blue Jazz during its annual fall festival and throughout the year. Knowing about the programs that TheTrue Blue Jazz Kids! Youth Jazz Initiative provides, the restaurant partners asked True Blue Jazz to team up for Christmas shows, with ticket proceeds going to charity.
While True Blue Jazz is the straight-ahead jazz organization in lower Delaware, founders and producers Eddie Sherman and Peggy Raley felt the series needed a variety of musical genres to make it complete.
The series kicked off Dec. 1 with The Eddy Sherman Show featuring vocalists Peggy Raley and Holly Lane. The audience was delighted by surprise guests Elliot Bastian and Marcus Gromofsky opening the show. Both are Cape Henlopen High School seniors, members of the Cape Jazz Combo and participants in many of the True Blue Jazz Kids! programs.
A Country Christmas – Bryan Scar & The Barn Owls took place Dec. 8.
The series will bring Webb T.’s Soul Patrol from Philly with A Motown Christmas from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 15.
To conclude the series, the Cartoon Christmas Trio will perform from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22. The trio plays all the animated jazz Christmas classics from Peanuts to Frosty, Rudolph and beyond.
