Local author advances in international screenplay competition
Local author Ed Moran recently announced his book, “The Octopus’s Garden,” is a semifinalist in the LA International Screenplay competition.
The protagonist, Gilly, is a genetically modified octopus who escapes from North Korea to Hawaii, where she is discovered by a group of people who do everything they can to keep her safe from the military and other nefarious parties. Together, they save the USS Arizona Memorial from attack. The fast-paced comedy with likable characters is suitable for the entire family.
“I've written two unique stories over the past four years. They have a lot in common. They are both based on premises that, to make them believable, required a lot of imagination. In my stories, conflict is resolved through nature or man's ingenuity. They are both charming, humorous, creative and dramatic stories with likable characters,” said Moran.
