The Episcopal Parish of All Saints' Church and St. George's Chapel will be alive with jazz and gospel music this coming weekend as they present their annual offerings during the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival.
A big white tent will cover the All Saints’ Church parking lot at 22 Olive Ave. in downtown Rehoboth at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18, as the church welcomes back the Moravian University Jazz Band for a free concert. The rain location will be in the parish hall at 18 Olive Ave. The 22-piece band under the direction of Dr. Neil Wetzell will present jazz and pop standards. There is no charge and no advance registration is needed. Those attending are asked to bring beach/lawn chairs to sit on; no seating will be provided. A freewill offering will be taken.
The first of two jazz masses will be offered at 5 p.m., Oct. 18, in the All Saints' Church sanctuary at 18 Olive Ave. The second mass will be held at 10 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 19, in St. George's Parish Hall, 20332 Beaver Dam Road (Route 23) near Harbeson. Following the mass, the band will play a gospel/jazz brunch set during fellowship. Refreshments will be served. There is no charge to attend and advance reservations are not needed; a freewill offering will be taken. All are welcome.
