Local home designer Erik Kampmann wins international awards

October 18, 2018

Erik Kampmann, owner of EMK Designs, a residential design studio in Ocean View, was recently honored at the USA Property Awards for his Ovcharenko Custom Home project in Bethany Beach.

Kampmann designed the home to pay homage to the World War II watch towers that dot the Delaware coastline. He competed against the best property professionals across the U.S. and the  Americas. The competition was judged by an independent panel of 80 industry experts and chaired by Lord Caithness, Lord Best, the Earl of Liverpool and Lord Thurso, members of the House of Lords in the UK Parliament.

Kampmann won the Architecture Single Residence category and, to top it off, he was also presented with the 5-Star Best Architecture Single Residence award by the judging panel.

Kampmann said he is beyond thrilled, not only to have been chosen to compete for the initial award – and win – but also to garner the 5-star award. “I cannot tell you how awesome it feels to see a dream become a reality, creating a singular home for amazing clients, and to be recognized internationally for it,” said Kampmann. “I keep looking at my awards and thinking, hey, those are mine!”

Kampmann is not new to being an award winner, but those were when he was working for other firms – what now seems to him like ages ago. He said the new awards are his and his alone – well, he did say he’s sharing them with his clients.

EMK Designs is an international award-winning residential design studio in Ocean View providing creative and practical designs with remarkable attention to detail, that plans builders love and, most importantly, happy and loyal clients.
