Loretta Dacheux, beloved mother, nana

Loretta Ann Dacheux (née Young), 71, passed away peacefully at home Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, in Rehoboth Beach. Born June 10, 1954, in York, Pa., Loretta graduated from York Suburban High School in 1972.

She is survived by her three older sisters, Patricia Maul, Virginia Shenk and Betty Bump. Her journey eventually led her to Rehoboth Beach, where she built a fulfilling career and a cherished life by the beach. Loretta found joy in simple pleasures. She loved spending time at the beach and reading mystery novels. One of her greatest sources of happiness was gathering with her high-school girlfriends, lifelong friendships that remained a constant source of laughter and support throughout the years. She is survived by her best friends, Alicia Danner, Pamela Lee, Susan Machado, Cindy Athey Bateman and Katie Wiegel Dowling. Loretta’s legacy lives on through her loving family. She is survived by her daughter, Kaite Dacheux; son, Eric Dacheux; stepsons, Clair “Skip” Dacheux III and Chad Dacheux; granddaughters, Kiarah Dacheux and Claire Dacheux; and other beloved grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.

Memorial services will be held in both Pennsylvania and Delaware to honor Loretta’s life and the many lives she touched. A service will be held at noon, Saturday, Oct. 18, at Advent Lutheran Church, 1775 E. Market St., York, Pa.  A memorial gathering will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 26, at Pot-Nets Lakeside Community Center, 33076 Rock Cove, Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, donations via GoFundMe (Loretta-Young-Dacheux) are requested to help cover funeral and related expenses.

Loretta touched so many lives over the years, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
