Lullaby trike-a-thon benefits St. Jude Children’s Hospital

May 31, 2021

Lullaby Learning Center in Harbeson recently held a trike-a-thon to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Lullaby preschool students ages 3-5 studied bike safety and practiced riding on the center’s backyard bike trail. Over the past several weeks, Lullaby students and families gathered donations that were sent directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Sponsorship gained by Lullaby’s small bike riders totaled over $9,600, and students couldn’t be happier to contribute to the extraordinary medical expenses the families of St. Jude face each and every day.

Lullaby Learning Center offers care and education to the children of the community from birth through 5 years. In its preschool program, students prepare for kindergarten. Located just west of the intersection of routes 5 and 9, Lullaby’s facility and property in Harbeson are home to a new school building, new gymnasium, and two acres of outdoor space.

Families and friends gathered May 21 to support the 51 Lullaby students who pedaled for a purpose.

This particular fundraiser emotionally hit home for many in the Lullaby family, whose very own former student Arden MacPhee and her battle with childhood cancer provided motivation.

Listeners were moved as Arden’s mother Tray Sullivan shared with the audience her family’s experiences as Arden fought and won two tough battles with cancer.

Lullaby Director Kim Sliben said this event will continue to take place each year in honor of Arden.

The Lullaby team encourages community members to contribute to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.
