Lupo di Mare’s Women & Wine Club returns Oct. 27
Lupo di Mare’s Women & Wine Club will return to the Italian restaurant’s dining room Tuesday, Oct. 27. “The response last year was amazing,” said Molly King, who handles event sales for SoDel Concepts, which owns Lupo as well as four other coastal restaurants.
“Women enjoy getting out, getting together and learning about wine.”
Michelle Souza of Southern Wine & Spirits will discuss Chardonnay, and guests will sample four different wines, paired with dishes created by Lupo’s chef, Phil Mastrippolito. The event starts with Kim Crawford Unoaked Chardonnay and prosciutto-wrapped figs with bleu cheese and balsamic vinegar.
Next up is potato gnocchi tossed with butternut squash and wild mushrooms in a sage brown butter, served with St. Francis Chardonnay. The main course features seared rockfish with parmesan-butter risotto and a shaved brussel sprout salad, accompanied by Tormaresca Chardonnay. The evening ends with white balsamic-roasted peaches garnished with whipped mascarpone, a praline and shaved basil, which will complement Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuisse.
The cost is $39 per person; gratuity is not included. Lupo will donate $5 per attendee to Rehoboth Wears Red for Women, a nonprofit organization that raises awareness for women’s heart health. To register, call King at 302-275-0183 after 3 p.m., or email molly@sodelconcepts.com.
Next month’s Women & Wine event, which will be Tuesday, Nov. 24, will be about Pinot Noir. Lupo di Mare is located at 247 Rehoboth Ave., in the Hotel Rehoboth building.
