Lurana Millman, hardware store owner

April 2, 2012

Lurana Millman, 86, beloved mother, grandmother, friend, and Lewes resident, died unexpectedly Sunday April 1, 2012.

Lurana, originally from Milford, was well-known in the Lewes area for the nearly 50 years. She and her late husband Everett Millman tended to their customers at Millman’s Hardware before it closed its doors a few years ago. She has since been an active member of Bethel Methodist Church and within the community. She will be remembered for her kindness and tremendous generosity (and for her chocolate chip cookies!) by all those whose lives she graced.

She is survived by her son Ronald Millman; her daughter-in-law Angela Millman; her three grandchildren, Tara and Brea Millman, and William Smart; and her two great-grandchildren Grant Todd and Caeden Millman.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday April 6, beginning with a viewing at noon at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road in Long Neck. Interment will be around 2:30 p.m. at the Bethel Methodist Cemetery on Savannah Road in Lewes. There will be a memorial reception beginning at 3 p.m. at Bethel Methodist Church Lewes. Please join her family and friends at one or all of the services to celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers please make donations in Lurana’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org in memory of her beloved late husband Everett, who suffered many years from the disease.
