Man faces charges in Cypress Grove apartments theft
A Milton man faces burglary charges after police say he stole items from the Cypress Grove apartment complex including a power tool.
Police responded about 8:30 a.m., Dec. 18, for a report of the theft of a Milwaukee power tool about 6:30 a.m. from an unfinished garage building, and learned someone used a lock-pick about 5:30 a.m. to enter an unoccupied apartment. Once inside, police said, Malik Aiken, 25, disabled security cameras and took items. Police said they found the power tool in a wooded area in Lincoln. It was undamaged and returned to the construction crew, police said.
Police arrested Aiken Dec. 29, and charged him with third-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools, theft over $1,500 and theft under $1,500. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of a $7,000 cash bond.
