Students in Mariner Middle School's Spanish Immersion program commemorated Hispanic Heritage Month with creativity and cultural pride.
To share knowledge about the rich histories, traditions and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx communities, students designed informative one-page documents and brochures, which are displayed on the bulletin boards throughout the school.
Students also crafted papel picado, which are bright-colored, intricately cut banners that now hang from the school ceilings, to symbolize both the fragility of life and the joy found in community.
Together, the projects created a vibrant and meaningful tribute that honors culture, fosters learning and connects students with traditions that continue to inspire across generations.
