The annual Lewes Merchants’ Hospitality Night was held Nov. 30, kicking off a weekend full of Christmas spirit in Lewes. The weekend continued with Lewes Historical Society’s Christmas Tour of Lewes and the Lewes Christmas Parade, both Dec. 2.
Second Street was blocked off to vehicular traffic to create a free-flowing stroll through downtown Lewes. Merchants stayed open late and many offered treats for shoppers and passersby.
Performing on one end of Second Street was Savannah Shockley singing popular holiday tunes backed by her father Michael and Ken Thompson. At the other end was the Cape Jazz Band, featuring several solo performances and even a tap dance from Melanie McCloy.
