Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra’s 2025-26 program, titled Bold Voices, Eternal Resonance and led by Music Director Michael Repper, will feature classical favorites, hidden gems and intimate chamber performances.
“This season celebrates bold musical voices — some long celebrated, others newly rediscovered — and the timeless resonance of their work,” said Repper. “Each program is designed to speak across eras and borders, and we’re excited to bring this music to our audiences with both passion and purpose.”
Local season performances open with Bartók’s “Romanian Folk Dances,” Emilie Mayer’s “Symphony No. 1” and Beethoven’s exhilarating “Symphony No. 7,” at 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 27, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach.
A piano quartet performance featuring Michael McHale will take place at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, at Epworth UMC, Rehoboth Beach.
Guest conductor George Jackson, music director of the Amarillo Symphony, will lead a compelling program featuring Beethoven’s “Coriolan Overture,” Mozart’s “Symphony No. 39” and Mendelssohn’s “Symphony No. 1” at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 7, at Epworth UMC, Rehoboth Beach.
The MSO’s holiday joy concert will bring festive cheer at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, at. Cape Henlopen High School, 1250 Kings Highway, Lewes. Featured vocalists will be Kresley Figueroa, soprano, and Jonathan Patton, baritone.
A holiday brass quintet performance is set for 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 20, at Epworth UMC, Rehoboth Beach.
A woodwinds and strings performance will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, at Epworth UMC, Rehoboth Beach.
A program titled Morning, Afternoon, Night, will present a musical journey through the day with Haydn’s symphonies Nos. 6, 7 and 8, paired with evocative modern works including Dobrinka Tabakova’s “Dawn,” Susan Day’s “Afternoon Soliloquy” and Yukiko Nishimura’s “Nightfall” at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 11, at Epworth UMC, Rehoboth Beach.
The season concludes with violinist Nora Chastain performing Mozart’s “Violin Concerto No. 5” and Dvořák’s “Romance,” culminating in a performance of Shostakovich’s “Symphony No. 9,” at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 9, at Cape Henlopen High School, Lewes.
