Midway Lions host Snow Bowl for Sussex Consortium

January 19, 2020

The Midway Lions Club hosted the annual Snow Bowl for Sussex Consortium students at Milford Bowling Lanes Dec. 17.

Each year, students at the Sussex Consortium look forward to spending the day bowling with their peers and teachers.

“Once again we’re very grateful to have the opportunity to spend the day together bowling, courtesy of the Midway Lions Club,” said Vivian Bush, Sussex Consortium principal. “The students especially enjoy this event because they are spending time with friends who they aren’t always able to see otherwise during the day. They all really enjoy bowling together!”

Milford Bowling Lanes donates the use of the lanes, and the students and staff are divided up by age group to bowl for about four hours. The Lions also provide food and beverages for the students and staff.

“Our students really love this event and look forward to it each year,” said Patrick Zmuda, a Sussex Consortium physical education teacher. “They spend time with classmates and friends, and enjoy the friendly competition with each other.”

The Snow Bowl is just one of many events the Midway Lions Club has been hosting since 2002.
