Mildred V. Drew, Beebe Hospital retiree

Our beloved mother Mildred V. Drew, 81, of Riverdale Park, Millsboro, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021. With the care of her family, she was able to enjoy her final days in her home. She was born Aug. 25, 1940, to the late Mildred Tamone. 

Mrs. Drew retired from Beebe Hospital of Lewes after 30 years of faithful service. Mrs. Drew also enjoyed driving a school bus for the Indian River School District for many years.

Millie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to so many. She joins her husband David R. Drew Sr., her parents, and three brothers in Heaven. Millie is survived by her three children, David R. Drew Jr. (Donna), Daniel R. Drew, and Donna R. McCandless (Glenn); six grandchildren, David Drew III, Daniel Drew Jr., Paige McDonald, Dana Drew, Dustin Drew, and Trevor McCandless; three great-grandchildren; her sister Ronnie Kline, and brother Edward Allen.

Throughout her life, Millie was passionate about community involvement. She was a member of the American Legion (Post 28), the Elks Lodge, Women of the Moose Lodge, Indian River Yacht Club, and the Indian River Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

A graveside service to honor Millie’s life was held Friday, Dec. 31, at St. George’s Chapel, 20271 Beaver Dam Road, Harbeson.
