Milford Ladybug Music Festival returns July 30

July 15, 2022

The Milford Ladybug Music Festival is set for 2 to 7 p.m., Saturday, July 30, with the main stage on Walnut Street at Park Avenue in downtown Milford. More than 35 live music performances will take place at 10 indoor and outdoor venues. The rain date is Sunday, July 31.

Walnut Street will be closed off to vehicle traffic from SE to NE Front Street, along with a large portion of Park Avenue. Plenty of food trucks, adult libations and craft vendors will be on hand.

Organized by Downtown Milford Inc. and Wilmington-based Gable Music Ventures, the Ladybug Music Festival is the largest free celebration of women in music in the country, boasting a 100% female-led lineup, creating opportunities for women in both live music engineering and event production.

The successful inaugural event drew an estimated 2,500-3,000 attendees into Downtown Milford in September 2018, with many attendees driving from several hours away. For many, the inaugural event drew them to Milford for the first time. The second event drew 4,000-5,000 fans. With COVID-19 health concerns, the events were canceled in 2020 and 2021.

“It’s so exciting to be able to continue to celebrate women in music across the state of Delaware by bringing this festival to Milford again. I am proud that we continue to lead the way for women to have full representation in festivals,” said Gayle Dillman, founder of the Ladybug Music Festival and CEO of Gable Music Ventures.
