Milford man faces sixth DUI charge

A Milford man faces felony driving under the influence after police say crashed his Jeep near Lincoln.

Police responded at 2:04 p.m., May 5, to Cedar Creek Road near Heritage Road and found a Jeep Liberty had crashed into a mailbox and utility pole. Police said the driver had walked away from the crash, and they found him walking on Cedar Creek Road. Police spoke with David Gillespie, 59, and when he showed signed of impairment, police said, they administered a field sobriety test. Gillespie was not hurt in the crash, but he was arrested and charged with his sixth DUI, breach of conditions of bond, leaving the scene of an accident, driving while suspended or revoked, and other traffic violations.

Gillespie was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $12,402 cash bond.
