Mill Pond Garden to welcome visitors Aug. 24

August 21, 2025

Mill Pond Garden will celebrate the peak of pollinator abundance when it opens to visitors from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 24, at 31401 Melloy Court, Lewes.

Tickets, available at millpondgarden.com or cash only at the gate, admit a vehicle with up to six visitors.

Along with sightings of butterflies, skippers and dozens of other kinds of pollinators including hummingbirds, late-summer displays will include hibiscus, phlox and abundant perennials in bloom. A horticulturist will be on duty to answer questions.

Mill Pond Garden is the Cape Region’s only professional horticultural nonprofit public garden.

Because Mill Pond Garden is also a National Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat, visitors might see great blue herons, turtles basking on logs in Red Mill Pond or bunnies grazing in the greenery.
