Millsboro Lions Club thankful for support

June 9, 2015

The Millsboro Lions Club celebrated its 75th Anniversary with a very successful Variety Show - featuring local musical talent and comedy by club members and their families.

The financial support of 25 local businesses and organizations really helped make it a great fundraiser for the club’s projects, which include assisting local citizens with eyeglasses and exams, and screening all kindergarten children at East Millsboro and Long Neck elementary schools. Furthermore, the press coverage by WGMD radio, and Cape Gazette and Coastal Point newspapers, was instrumental in our success.

The audience was well entertained and involved, and certainly enjoyed the songs and acts. We thank Rebecca Wilson, Danita Robinson, Joyce Bowden, Greg Fuller, Melissa Alesi and Aimee Parker - all for the wonderful singing. Plus, we appreciate the special performances by Jaclynn Cordrey, Linda Mitchell, Kim Jones and Chris Cordrey’s family of youngsters: Jasmine Stuart, and Reagan, Joey and William Gamuciello. A huge thank you goes to Matt Price, a Sussex Central High School senior, who did a tremendous job with sound and lighting. Also, we thank Taylor Rogers who videotaped the production.

Finally, the local Boy Scouts, Troop 89 of Millsboro, did an outstanding job on the stage design. We had a lot of fun, and really appreciate the community support.
