Millville Town Peddler to host artist Loretta Ellingsworth in August

August 2, 2015

Millville Town Peddler will host artist Loretta Ellingsworth for a month-long exhibit in August. Ellingsworth is a local Delaware self-taught artist. She has had art in her life since childhood. Ellingsworth has dabbled in watercolors, acrylic, refurbishing furniture and photography.

She had a career working for Sussex County Council, but after the birth of her last child, Ellingsworth decided to stop work and spend her time at home raising her three girls. Ellingsworth says, “I enjoy painting things from my childhood, such as animals you find in the bay area scenery along with refurbishing furniture and photography. The support of my family and being able to become a full-time mom and artist means the world to me, and I hope that I can continue it in the future.”

The collection will be displayed at Millville Town Peddler in the rear section starting Aug. 1. The show includes Ellingsworth’s paintings and painted furniture. The art portrays worldly character through Ellingsworth’s imagination and childhood memories. Ellingsworth’s art exhibit is free and open to the public, and her art will be available for purchase. Members of the community are invited to come enjoy the art and take part in sale specials.

Store hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday. The store is closed Tuesday. Artists interested in holding a show at Millville Town Peddler can contact by phone, by email or in person. Millville Town Peddler is at 35308 Atlantic Ave., Millville.
