Milton Arts Guild quilling class registration due April 16
After receiving huge positive feedback from a holiday-themed quilling class, Milton Arts Guild will offer a follow-up, spring-themed class, Quilling Flowers with Jenn Johnson, from 12:30 to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 23, at the gallery at 107 Federal St., Milton. No prior art experience is necessary.
Johnson will lead students through the art of rolling paper to make beautiful flower arrangements.
Quilling is an ancient art of rolling, shaping and gluing paper around a stiff cylinder that results in unified, decorative designs. The name “quilling” is thought to come from the early origins of using birds’ quills to create the art.
Johnson is a self-taught artist who specializes in three-dimensional work, including sacred mandala art, paper crafts and light-enhanced pieces. Also an avid tangle doodle artist, Johnson is a member of the Milton Arts Guild and displays her work at shows throughout Sussex County.
The class costs $60. All supplies are included in the fee. To register, go to miltonartsguild.org. Registration closes Saturday, April 16.
