Milton Arts Guild scholarship applications due May 5

March 24, 2022

Milton Arts Guild has opened the application process for its 2022 student scholarship, which is designed to help a deserving high school senior in the Cape school district.

Each year, Milton Arts Guild offers a scholarship to a local art student to pursue his/her continuing education. Students can attend Cape Henlopen High School or private school, or be home-schooled, as long as they reside in the Cape district. The scholarship will be awarded at the end of the school year.

“Offering our student scholarship is important to Milton Arts Guild’s mission,” said Sue Dutton, president of MAG’s board of directors. “It allows a student to pursue art, and it further reinforces our commitment to our community.”

The scholarship is funded in part by the guild’s annual 8x8 auction, which was held several weeks ago and raised more than $1,000.

Nearly 100 people visited the guild’s gallery over the two-day 8x8 silent auction. Of the 66 paintings donated by arts guild artists, 50 were purchased. Paintings had an opening bid of $25 and many generated good-natured bidding wars.
