As summer winds down, festival season begins to heat up. One of the first out of the gate is the annual Celebration on the Broadkill in Milton Memorial Park.
Formerly known as Bargains on the Broadkill, the Aug. 26 event, hosted by the Milton Chamber of Commerce, was an opportunity for local vendors to bring their unique wares to the masses. The event, which saw a record crowd this year, also featured the Great Duck Race and a kayak race along the Broadkill River. The duck race featured 1,200 rubber ducks dumped from the top of a ladder truck. Attendees to the festival purchased the ducks, with each duck numbered. The winning duck was sponsored by Diana Nicaretta, who won the $500 grand prize.
