Milton holiday house tour booklet cover artwork selected
The Women's Club of Milton announced a watercolor by artist Sue Marano, titled "Cozy Winter Cottage," has been selected for the cover of its Milton Holiday House Tour booklet for 2024.
The artwork was created from a photo of a home on Shipcarpenter Street in the Lewes Historical Society campus. Marano embellished the image with depictions of added greenery and two cats. She enjoys painting older buildings, capturing their various textures, colors and perspectives.
Upon retiring and moving with her husband from Montclair, N.J., to Lewes, Marano began attending local and regional art classes. She said watercolor is her favorite medium, though she also enjoys pen and ink, acrylic and mixed media. She showcases her work at the Milton Arts Guild and has received awards at its judged shows.
The Milton Holiday House Tour will be held from 2 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, featuring private homes and public buildings in the historic town of Milton. All will be decorated for the holiday season.
Tickets will be $25 in advance and will be available starting Friday, Nov. 1, at the Mercantile at Milton, Friendly Flowers Florist & Gifts in Milton and Lewes Gourmet in Lewes.
Tickets purchased on tour day will cost $30, and they will be available from the Mercantile at Milton, and the Milton Historical Society and Museum.
