Milton holiday parade canceled

Tree lighting to go on
November 5, 2020

Milton Fire Department has canceled the annual Christmas parade due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement, the fire department said that despite the parade cancellation, Santa will still be coming to town Wednesday, Dec. 2, arriving via fire truck at the Miracle on Milton Streets event running from 6 to 10 p.m. Milton residents are being asked to decorate their houses with lights and turn them on during that event.

The department will also be doing “Santa runs” through Milton neighborhoods upon request. Milton residents can contact Skip Millman at 302-448-0076, Bailey Millman at 302-278-5166, or the fire department at 302-684-8500 and mvfd-sec@comcast.net in order to schedule a run.

Milton Fire Department is planning on resuming the Christmas parade in 2021.

Meanwhile, the town’s annual tree lighting will happen in Milton Memorial Park, but a date has not been set.
