Milton hosts July 4 celebration

Thousands braved the 90 degree heat, filling Milton Memorial Park to celebrate America’s birthday.

Irish Eyes sponsored the annual Bring Mayberry Back to Milton event, with plenty of old-fashioned family fun. Dunk tanks, train rides, relay races and chess matches complemented  the feature events: the bike parade, bike-decorating contest and pie-baking contest. 

The day featured youngsters in all manner of patriotic garb, including Emerson Marsh, 4, of Hoboken, N.J., who came with a tribute to Captain America. RYAN MAVITY PHOTOS
