Milton Main Street seeks art submissions for painted sails project
As part of its ongoing efforts to use art to draw people to its vibrant downtown area, Milton Main Street is seeking interest from area artists willing to produce large-format works on fabric sails. Six works celebrating the Broadkill River will be installed this fall in Mill Park.
The triangular sails are made of high-density polyethylene, and each side measures 8-feet in length. Completed works should feature designs recognizing the history, natural beauty and challenges faced by the Broadkill River. Acrylic paint is the best medium for this purpose.
Selected artists or teams will receive a sail and a $100 Amazon gift card to use for purchasing materials.
Interested artists or teams are asked to provide their name(s), a brief description of the proposed work’s subject or theme, and samples of their artwork via email to exploremiltonmainstreet@gmail.com.
