Milton police respond to call at Wagamons Pond

Milton residents near Wagamons Pond got to see a curious sight Jan. 31, as the Delaware State Police helicopter circled overhead after a report of someone falling into the pond while ice skating.

Milton Police Chief Derrick Harvey said there was a report of a man skating on the ice around the pond who was there and then wasn’t. The witness thought the person might have fallen through the ice. Harvey said the helicopter circled overhead to ensure there were no breaks in the ice. 

He said after talking to witnesses, it was determined the would-be skater had left on his own accord and all units were cleared. 

Milton Fire Department also assisted with the incident.
