Milton teacher Christine Amalfitano recognized by Johnson Orthodontics

Dr. Jonathan C. Johnson surprised Milton Elementary School teacher Christine Amalfitano with a $200 Amazon gift card May 4, during Teacher Appreciation Week.

This is the third year Johnson has run his quarterly teacher appreciation contest, and Amalfitano is the last winner for this school year.

She was nominated by student Elizabeth Downer, who dropped her name into a fishbowl in Johnson’s office before the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

Although the orthodontic office and schools have been physically closed since mid-March, Johnson thought it was especially important to recognize a teacher this quarter.

“It’s been wonderful to see firsthand the great job teachers have done adapting and keeping students engaged virtually,” he said. The team at Johnson Orthodontics greatly values the teachers in the community.
