Milton Theatre sells off perishables

March 30, 2020

The effects of businesses being shut down to limit the spread of coronavirus hit home in Milton over the weekend of March 20.

With Gov. John Carney’s executive order limiting public gatherings, Milton Theatre has been left unable to put on shows. So to raise money, the theater held a sale of perishable items such as food, water, soda, wine and beer, with all proceeds going to help the theater continue daily operations.

First to go was the beer - Corona, of course - but bottles of wine, packs of White Claw, and cases and bottles of soda were still available. The theater also sold individual packs of candy for $1 each. Popcorn was also up for sale.

Theater spokesman JP Lacap said the sale would last until everything is sold out.

“We’re basically selling everything we can sell so we can still operate on a day-to-day basis,” he said.
