Mispillion Art League student exhibit continues thru May 9

May 4, 2026

The Mispillion Art League annual student art show opened with an April 24 reception, bringing together 300 attendees who shared in the excitement of young creative minds.

Families filled the downtown Milford gallery to show support for students in local public schools. A collaboration with Milford School District, the exhibit showcases work students have created in art classes across the district.

Exhibit organizers aim to promote arts education in public schools by inviting the community to see firsthand how it enriches students' academic experiences.

Volunteer and former board member Cathy Walls said, “MAL is committed to supporting arts education because a quality arts curriculum builds learning skills, increases academic performance and provides opportunities to reward the skills of children who learn differently.”

The show includes works by more than 300 students from Milford Senior High School, Milford Central Academy, Banneker Elementary, Lulu Ross Elementary, Mispillion Elementary and Morris Early Childhood Center. For each school, awards have been given for first-, second- and third-place selections, plus one Best in Show.

The show will be on display through Saturday, May 9, at 5 N. Walnut St., Milford.
