Morgan’s Message organization expands to Beacon Middle School

December 9, 2025

Students at Beacon Middle School are joining the nationwide movement to end the stigma surrounding mental health in athletics, thanks to a powerful collaboration with Cape Henlopen High School’s Morgan’s Message chapter.

High school student leaders from Morgan’s Message visited the middle school to share the organization’s mission: To amplify the voices of student-athletes and promote open conversations about mental health. During the visit, they led an interactive presentation, shared personal stories, and guided students through activities focused on self-care, empathy and support for peers.

The middle school students will now move into launching their own Morgan’s Message chapter. The new club will provide a safe space for students to lift each other up in support, build leadership skills and continue spreading Morgan’s Message throughout their school community.

“We want our students to know that it’s OK to talk about how you feel and to support one another,” said sixth-grade teacher Leelee Wilson, who will serve as club advisor. “Starting this conversation early makes all the difference, and for the students to be able to lay the club’s foundation in collaboration with our very active high school chapter is very exciting to watch!”

Beacon looks forward to welcoming members to the club this school year.
